Quick story before the magic:
Setting a high bar a year ago didn’t get me a gig. The potential client wanted me to work for free. I tried to explain that this is my business and I can’t exactly just give it away. She said I'd get exposure as compensation. So, I compared it to when she opened her small local business. She still didn’t really process because hers is not entertainment.
fast forward to recently, when she found me from a lead and booking website. Not realizing I was the same person, she was happy to pay my price and defended “supporting local businesses”. I wasn’t gonna throw it in her face that I was the same person. But I did comment that I had been a customer of hers.
Anyway…

Just watching people react to this stuff is the icing on the cake for me. We all know it’s not actually magic, but it doesn’t matter. It’s magical and that matters.
